Who said we don’t need a blanket in summer? When we think about summertime, the first thing that comes to our mind is the heat and the desire to refresh ourselves, so thinking of a blanket may even scare us… But what about those moments when the ocean breeze refresh us after a long day at the beach?; and those cooler nights when our body asks for a cover?; or even these naps with air conditioning when going outside is the last thing we think about?

En esos momentos, ¿no os parece perfecto tener  a mano una manta de verano que nos permita cubrirnos y alcanzar la temperatura ideal? Estoy segura de que se os ocurren muchos otros momentos en los que cubriros con una fina manta en los meses más calurosos del año. Y aún cuando no la usemos, una manta siempre nos viene bien para decorar y dar calidez a cualquier espacio, y sino os lo imagináis, atentos a las siguientes imágenes.

At such times, don’t you think is perfect to have on hand a summer blanket that allows us to cover ourselves and reach the ideal temperature? I’m sure you can think about many other moments in which you can cover yourselves with a thin blanket in the hottest months of the year. And even when we don’t use it, a blanket is always welcome to decorate and give warmth to any space, and if you can’t imagine, take a look at the following images.

Hello everyone, forgive me for the low frequency of posts during the past months but I’m starting a new job career and I don’t have much time… But this week, specifically on June the 10th, Decoraddiction turned 2 years old and of course I couldn’t not share this with you! Para celebrar el segundo aniversario de Decoraddiction os quiero presentar una tienda online de la que seguro os enamoraréis a primera vista, y sino me créeis seguid leyendo. Como ya os he adelantado, su nombre es My Maracujá, que en portugués significa fruta de la pasión. Quizá no lo sepáis pero yo viví 5 años maravillosos en Brasil y como no podía ser de otra forma guardo un recuerdo estupendo de aquellos años. To celebrate Decoraddiction’s second anniversary I want to present to you an e-shop that you’ll fall involve with at first sight for sure, and if you don’t believe me continue reading. As I’ve already told you, its name is My Maracujá, which is the name given in Brazil to what we know as passion fruit. Perhaps you don’t know but I lived five wonderful years in Brazil and as it couldn’t it be otherwise I keep a great memory of these years. Este año Casa Decor ha elegido la antigua Real Fábrica de Tela como escenario para celebrar sus 50 años. En él se reúnen 42 equipos de arquitectos, interioristas  y paisajistas que con su buen gusto y talento han convertido este edificio en un foco de diseño y arte.

Como vais a comprobar ahora, los espacios son muchos y muy diversos, desde el «Winter Garden» del interiorista Guille García-Hoz en colaboración con Samsung, hasta el «Salón-vestidor» de Olga López de Vera y Covadonga Rogríguez Quintana. Todos y cada uno de los espacios con ese toque especial y personal que los hace únicos. Os dejo unas cuántas fotos que yo misma hice durante mi recorrido.

Entre otras tantas, una de las novedades de este año es la presentación, por parte de Aerosol, de Murelli Cucine. Es una marca de cocinas italianas de diseño recién aterrizada en Madrid y que gracias al talento de las decoradoras Marga Lantero y Lola Plaza constituye el fabuloso espacio nº20 de Casa Decor, conocido bajo el nombre de «Cocina, comedor y salón». Se trata de una cocina fabricada en madera de roble natural europeo con encimara de mármol y electrodomésticos inteligentes de la marca Fulgor Milano. Bajo mi punto de vista, uno de esos espacios en los que entras y ya no quieres salir. ¿Qué tal si lo comprobáis con vuestros propios ojos?

Good morning decoraddicters, how was your long weekend? Today I begin the post with a question, who doesn’t like to entertain people at home? I think we all like to invite our loved ones to spend an enjoyable evening in our house, whether for a family or friends reunion, or perhaps for a romantic date.

Y es que, a pesar de las muchas razones que pueden llevarnos a ello, siempre nos gusta que nuestra casa sea lo más acogedora posible intentando que los de fuera se sientan como en su propia casa, ¿o me equivoco? Para lograrlo simplemente necesitamos mucho amor, un poco de buen gusto y una pizca de originalidad, con esta receta estoy segura de que cualquiera de vosotros podéis ser el anfitrión perfecto. Aún así os voy a dar unos consejos básicos para guiaros un poco en la faceta decorativa.

And, despite the many reasons that can lead us to this, we always like our house to be as pleasant as possible for the guests to feel at home, or am I wrong? To achieve this you just need a lot of love, a little bit of good taste and a pinch of originality, with this recipe I’m sure any of you can be the perfect host. Still I’m going to give you a few basic tips to guide you a little bit on the decoration side.

Para mí, la disposición de todos los elementos, la decoración y la vajilla que utilicemos, son las claves para la mesa perfecta. Lo ideal es combinar los colores de la vajilla con los del mantel y las servilletas, personalmente pienso que si son colores que contrastan, mejor que mejor; aunque reconozco que también me considero muy fan del blanco sobre blanco.
Sin embargo, y aprovechando que es primavera, creo que debemos atrevernos a vestir nuestras mesas con colores vivos y alegres e incluso utilizar estampados florales. Así que para que podáis haceros una idea de lo que os hablo, os dejo unas cuantas imágenes de inspiración de mesas primaverales. ¡Vamos a verlas!

For me, the arrangement of every element, the decoration and the tableware we use, are the key elements for the perfect table. The ideal is to combine the tableware colors with the tablecloth ones, I personally think that if they are contrasting colors, it’s a win-win; although I admit I also consider myself a big fan of white on white.
However, and taking advantage that it’s spring, I think we must dare to dress our tables with bright and cheerful colors and even use floral prints. So that you can imagine what I’m talking about, I leave a few inspirational pictures of spring tables. Let’s see them!

Let’s start the week having breakfast in Paris, lovely right? For that let’s go into a bright and cozy industrial style Parisian café. With rectangular and long plant, the Coutume Café in Paris starts with large floor to ceiling windows that fold on both sides to make way for a wide entrance to a long wooden laminate corridor.

Dejando libre la zona de tránsito en el centro, en el lado derecho de este pasillo nos encontramos con 3 mostradores y a continuación una estantería con productos a la venta; y a su izquierda se encuentra la zona de mesas y sillas donde sentarse a pasar un buen rato. La estructura de este espacio se constituye principalmente por pilares metálicos de color gris antracita, color que se repite en los perfiles de los ya nombrados ventanales.

Freeing the transit area in the center, on the right side of this corridor there are 3 counters and after that, some shelves with products for sale; and to its left we can find the tables and chairs area to sit down and have a great time. The structure of this space is constituted mainly by metal pillars in anthracite gray repeated in the profiles of the already named windows.

Sus paredes están revestidas de azulejos cuadrados blancos en acabado brillo hasta media altura y después pintadas con efecto desgastado en tonos blancos y verde agua. La iluminación se compone por bombillas descolgadas desde el techo, concretamente del modelo Plumen, que curiosamente es la primera bombilla de bajo consumo del mundo con un premio de diseño, ¿la conocíais? Podéis leer más sobre esta original bombilla pinchando aquí. Y ahora ya sólo nos queda darnos una vuelta por el Café Coutume de Paris, ¿queréis venir conmigo?

Its walls are coated with gloss finish white square tiles halfway up and then painted with faded white and water green tones. The lighting consists on light bulbs hanging from the ceiling, specifically the Plumen model, which is curiously the first low energy bulb with a design award in the world, did you know that? Good Morning! Let’s start this short work week with a lovely post, a visit to a bright and cozy nordic style apartment with ethnic touches; a mixture that as you will see, it can’t be more desirable.

Lo más característico de este apartamento son sus espacios minimalistas pero al mismo tiempo muy abiertos, diáfanos y luminosos a la vez que minimalistas complementados con piezas de mobiliario muy bien elegidas junto a algunos elementos de decoración de estilo étnico. Con el blanco como color predominante acompañado de puntuales pinceladas étnicas en materiales como madera, mimbre y porcelana se logra un espacio de lo más original. ¿Entramos a dar una vuelta?

The most characteristic feature of this apartment is its minimalist but also very wide, airy and luminous spaces complemented with well-chosen furniture pieces with some ethnic-style decoration elements. With white as the predominant color accompanied by punctual ethnic touches on materials like wood, wicker and porcelain we obtain a very original space. Shall we go for a walk?

As you maybe have seen in my social networks, I had dinner with my family in a very special sushi bar last Thursday. It’s called Green Tea Sushi & Cocktail Bar and it’s located in a hidden nook of the Westin Palace Hotel in Madrid. The truth is that we discovered it by chance and the decision to go was a success because we all loved it!

Este sushi bar es un lugar acogedor e íntimo en el que saborear una deliciosa cena o disfrutar de unos originales cocktails ya que sólo dispone de espacio para unos 30 comensales. Por su parte, la decoración se compone por diferentes elementos de mobiliario oriental de los años 50, mesas y sillas de diseños diversos, espejos, jarrones, etc… muy bien combinados entre sí. Con la madera como material predominante y gracias a una iluminación muy acertada se ha logrado crear este peculiar rincón zen. En cuanto a la comida, todos y cada uno de los platos que tomamos estaban deliciosos y muy muy sabrosos. Veamos ahora pues esta peculiar experiencia a través de unas cuantas imágenes.

This sushi bar is a cozy and intimate place to savor a delicious dinner or enjoy original cocktails as it only has room for about 30 people. About its decoration, it’s composed of different elements of oriental furniture of the 50s, tables and chairs of various designs, mirrors, vases, etc… very well combined together. With wood as the main material and thanks to a very good lighting has managed to create this unique zen nook. As for the food, each and every one of the dishes we ate were delicious and very tasty. Let now see this unique experience through a few images.

La entrada Un sushi bar en un rincón escondido // A sushi bar in a hidden nook se publicó primero en Decoraddiction.

Good Morning!! A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to be invited to Porcelanosa‘s production center and showroom in Castellon for the presentation of 2015 novelties. The fabulous Porcelanosa’s communication team organized a great and complete bloggers meeting which they named after  #PorcelanosaExperience hashtag and under which you can see lots of photos and information about this event on social networks.

La visita fue muy larga y provechosa y por ello os quiero enseñar a través de mis fotos un resumen de todo lo que vivimos durante ese día. Lo primero que hicimos fue presentarnos porque muchos de nosotros solo nos conocíamos virtualmente. Inmediatamente después emprendimos la visita al centro de producción en el que pudimos ver cada paso de la elaboración de los productos de Porcelanosa, así como el inmenso almacén automatizado donde se almacenan las piezas listas para ser trasladadas a su destino.

The visit was very long and profitable and that’s why I want to show a summary of what we lived that day through my pictures. The first thing we did was to introduce ourselves, as many of us only knew each other  in the virtual world. Immediately after we went to visit the production center where we saw every step of Porcelanosa’s products elaboration, and also the massive automated storehouse where the products are stored and ready to be transported to their destination.

Después de esta interesante ruta, continuamos nuestra visita por la zona de exposición o show room, donde pudimos ver los productos en un escenario real, así como tocar muchos de los novedosos materiales del año 2015. También pudimos comprobar que las baldosas cerámicas tanto de imitación a las conocidas baldosas hidráulicas como a la madera natural están a la orden del día.

After this interesting route, we continued our tour through the exhibition area or showroom, where we could see the products in a real scenario, as well as touch many of the novelties of 2015. We also found out that ceramic tiles both hydraulic tiles as natural wood imitation are fashionable.

Una vez visto el show room y antes de una estupenda comida en el restaurante dentro de las instalaciones de Venis, nos dirigimos a visitar los «Espacios de Autor» en L’Antic Colonial.

Once we saw the show room and before a great meal in the restaurant inside Venis‘ installations, we went to visit the «Espacios de Autor» (author spaces) at L’Antic Colonial.

Ya después de comer, primero visitamos la exposición de Krion, donde tuvimos la oportunidad de poder realizar una figura con este material que es totalmente maleable, ¡fue una estupenda experiencia! Yo hice una espiral de 4 vueltas que ahora decora un rincón de mi estudio.

After eating, we first visited Krion‘s exhibition, where we were had the opportunity to make a shape with this material which is completely malleable, it was a great experience! I made a 4 loops spiral which now decorates a corner of my studio.

Y finalmente, antes de la vuelta a Madrid, tuvimos la posibilidad de conocer las fabulosas cocinas y baños de Gama Decor, que ofrece una amplia gama cromática y una multitud de opciones para crear espacios adecuados a todos los gustos.

And finally, before returning to Madrid, we had the chance to meet the fabulous kitchens and bathrooms of Gama Decor, which offers a wide color range and a multitude of options to create suitable spaces for all tastes.

Y además, ¡¡nos fuimos de allí con todos estos regalitos!! ¡Muchísimas gracias a todo el equipo de Porcelanosa!

Simplemente con un cambio de suelo podemos decorar una estancia e incluso diferenciar dos espacios. El mejor ejemplo de este segundo caso de encuentro de suelos es la transición entre la cocina y el salón. Sin embargo, se puede dar el caso en otras muchas ocasiones como por ejemplo simulando una alfombra debajo de la mesa del comedor o a lo largo de un baño simplemente poniendo un área de suelo distinto al del resto de la estancia. Así que ahora os voy a enseñar lo bonitas y originales que pueden llegar a ser estas transiciones. ¡Vamos a echarles un vistazo!

Good morning everyone!! How was your week? Thankfully today it’s Friday and in just a few hours the weekend will begin. Lately I’ve been seeing lots of photos with beautiful and original transitions between two floors of different materials and today I want to show them to you. At home, we can find many situations were a smooth and harmonic transition between two floors is essential, it specially happens in open concept homes.

With a simple floor change we can decorate a room but also differentiate two spaces. The best example of this second case of floors joint is the transition between the kitchen and the living room. However, it may be the case in many other occasions such as creating a false rug under the dining table or along a bathroom just by putting a floor area different from the one on the rest of the room. So now I’m going to show you how beautiful and original these transitions can be. Let’s take a look at them!

Ni os imagináis mi cara de asombro puesto que nunca había hecho nada parecido en toda mi vida; si bien es cierto que ¡siempre he tenido buena maña para las manualidades! Así que, como no podía ser de otra forma, acepté su encargo encantada y asustada a partes iguales.

Pero pensándolo en frío y ahora que ya ha pasado un tiempo, lo cierto es que no me lo puso demasiado complicado. Ella tenía varias ideas de lo que le apetecía y la unión de esas ideas con los más de 10 años de amistad que nos unen hicieron un excelente trabajo. Yo busqué y rebusqué por todos los rincones de Madrid el sobre perfecto, el papel perfecto, el cierre perfecto… Y tras una mañana soleada de sábado en la que les expuse mis diseños, llegamos a lo que para ella y su actual marido fue, ¡¡la invitación de boda perfecta!! O al menos eso me dijeron ¿Queréis verlas?

Today’s post is one of the most special posts I’ve written so far,  and you’ll find out why soon. About a year ago one of my best friends from school told us she was getting married, which was great news for the rest of my friends and I. But for sure, this is nothing that couldn’t have happened to any of you… It turns out that after that announcement, she wanted to place a very special order for her big day, she asked me to design the wedding invitations!!

You can’t even imagine my face of astonishment since I had never done anything like that in my life; while it’s true that I’ve always had great skills for crafts! So, as it couldn’t be otherwise, I accepted her order happy and frightened at the same time.

But thinking it coldly and now that some time has passed, the truth is that she didn’t make it too complicated for me. She had several ideas of what she wanted and the union of these ideas with our more than 10 years of friendship made an excellent job. I searched and researched through every corner of Madrid for the perfect envelope, the perfect paper, the perfect locking… And after a sunny Saturday morning in which I explained my designs to them, we reached what for her and her now husband was, the perfect wedding invitation!! Or at least that’s what they told me  Do you want to see them?
